Today I am introducing a series derived from out text “choose life”. You can see here how gracious our God is. He treats us like children with care and perfect love, He never tramples upon your will because He made you after His own image. Instead, He puts before you, death and life but encourage you to choose Life. The human life has been victim of death since Adam. In this discussion we focus on the choice of life and warnings about the disruptive nature of death. When Jesus said…, Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:60 He was not referring to corpse in the graveyard, but to everyone who … lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God. Luke 12:21 Or those who are alive only for the pleasures of this world, but are dead to the way, the truth and life of God.
Jesus Christ taught and minister to people with authority. Even His critics and enemies wanted to know the secret of His power. Matt. 8:23-24 People said “he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Matthew 7:29 Because His word made impact on people lives in a new way. He said. “Every good tree bears good fruit and a good tree cannot bear bad fruit”. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? The answer is no. Good fruit, therefore, is the product of good tree. Jesus is not talking about false prophets alone, He said, by their fruits you shall know them. Even Jesus was known by His own good fruits – He went about doing good. Matt. 14:33 And after Jesus left the earth, believers we called Christians because of the fruits they exhibited. Acts 11:26 And By your own fruits also, you will be known by God and the people around you.
And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth. Genesis 1:28 (AMPC) Essentially, God is saying I have made you after my image therefore be like Me. You have the power to express my quality and character in your manner of life and dominion. When God said, “Be fruitful”, it suggests you are a living fruit with all it takes to produce one just like you. Note that God did not say go and do this or that so you can bear fruit; Rather He said be fruitful and multiply because that is who I created you to be. it is your life to do so.
The blessing of God is not like a material handout, but a spiritual endowment, guaranteed by His own endless life and power. The purpose is to propagate the image and glory of the living God. Isaiah 43:7 Man was created to live a fruitful and productive life. Herein is my Father glorified, Jesus said, that ye bear much fruit. John 15:8 God is glorified when the fruit of your life, resembles His nature and character. God blessed them so they can live to manifest His nature and quality.
The life and Ministry of Jesus Christ exemplify “The Acts of True Worshiper” He is the perfect example of how you serve God in Spirit and in truth. The Holy Spirit is the living water, John 7:38-39 and the truth is the word of God. John 3:21 Christ represent everything to us – He is the way to God, the truth of His word, and His life in the flesh. John 14:6 The springing up or the flow of the Living water, through your life, is how you worship God in Spirit and truth. True worship is more than an event, it is a whole life behavior. The Lord Himself, demonstrated true worship with His words, actions, and reactions during His temptation- indeed He gave his life to save man from sin.
The purpose of an encounter with Jesus is to know the way, the truth, and the life of a true worshiper of God. “Even every one that is called by my name: God said, I have created him for my glory,” Isaiah 43:7 He saved Israel from Egyptian Bondage that they may worship Him. The entirety of God’s redemption plan is to build a kingdom of true worshipers. God’s relationship with man since Adam, centers around those who worship Him, according to His will and in obedience to His ways and commandment. The bible is lined up with true worshipers like Abel, Abraham, Moses, and King David, among others. But we are focusing on the author and finisher of our faith, Jesus Christ.
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. John 4:20-22 (KJV)
Jesus Christ met a woman of Samaria at the well outside the city. John 4:39-42 (NKJV They both had a profound conversation, “I who speak to you, am He (the Messiah).” Jesus said to her. The woman believed that Jesus is the Savior. Excited, she ran into the city and called people to come and meet Jesus. The city dwellers responded and heard Jesus spoke to them directly. Afterwards they said to the woman, we now believe Jesus, not because of what you said, but we have heard for ourselves, we believe, and we now know that this is indeed the Christ.
Psalm 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid.” This is not a wishful thinking or mere confession to boost your faith; but a declaration based on the knowledge of God – who is The Light, and the source and power of divine illumination. King David who wrote this song, had once; without a weapon killed a lion and challenged a well-equipped army with a sling. He obviously knew what he was talking about. During good and bad times, Experiential knowledge makes a lot of difference. David was literarily saying; I know the LORD is my light. He is the source of strength and salvation needed for victory over adversity, and for protection in times of peace.
The cry for revival prayer is to keep you strong forever, more so in rough times like this. For if you faint in day of adversity, your strength is small. Proverbs 24:10. Please note that, we are not suggesting that revival prayer is a form of religious rights. Essentially, it is a spiritual security alert, to keep you focused and prayerful always. And to be persuaded, that nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord...
