Choose Life Part 1 – Cry for revival prayer July 8, 2020

Today I am introducing a series derived from out text “choose life”. You can see here how gracious our God is. He treats us like children with care and perfect love, He never tramples upon your will because He made you after His own image. Instead, He puts before you, death and life but encourage you to choose Life. The human life has been victim of death since Adam. In this discussion we focus on the choice of life and warnings about the disruptive nature of death. When Jesus said…, Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:60 He was not referring to corpse in the graveyard, but to everyone who … lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God. Luke 12:21 Or those who are alive only for the pleasures of this world, but are dead to the way, the truth and life of God.

He said. “Every good tree bears good fruit and a good tree cannot bear bad fruit”. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? The answer is no. Good fruit, therefore, is the product of good tree. Jesus is not talking about false prophets alone, He said, by their fruits you shall know them. Even Jesus was known by His own good fruits – He went about doing good. Matt. 14:33 And after Jesus left the earth, believers we called Christians because of the fruits they exhibited. Christianity is a matter of life – Be fruitful and multiply part 2 – June 10, 2020

And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth. Genesis 1:28 (AMPC) Essentially, God is saying I have made you after my image therefore be like Me. You have the power to express my quality and character in your manner of life and dominion. When God said, “Be fruitful”, it suggests you are a living fruit with all it takes to produce one just like you. Note that God did not say go and do this or that so you can bear fruit; Rather He said be fruitful and multiply because that is who I created you to be. it is your life to do so.

The Lord is my Light

Psalm 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid.” This is not a wishful thinking or mere confession to boost your faith; but a declaration based on the knowledge of God – who is The Light, and the source and power of divine illumination. King David who wrote this song, had once; without a weapon killed a lion and challenged a well-equipped army with a sling. He obviously knew what he was talking about. During good and bad times, Experiential knowledge makes a lot of difference. David was literarily saying; I know the LORD is my light. He is the source of strength and salvation needed for victory over adversity, and for protection in times of peace.
