Text: Genesis 1:27-28
27 So God created man in his own image,… 28 And God blessed them, … Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it: and have dominion … over every living thing that moves upon the earth.
The blessing of God is not like a material handout, but a spiritual endowment, guaranteed by His own endless life and power. The purpose is to propagate the image and glory of the living God. Isaiah 43:7 Man was created to live a fruitful and productive life. Herein is my Father glorified, Jesus said, that ye bear much fruit. John 15:8 God is glorified when the fruit of your life, resembles His nature and character. God blessed them so they can live to manifest His nature and quality.
The life of man and his fruit, unfortunately, was negatively impacted by Satan. Genesis 3:13 As a result, man and his generation of fruits became infected with the mix of good and evil, which does not glorify God. The fruit of man became predominantly evil and unpredictable. Jeremiah 17:9 Because man disobeyed God – Do not eat of the tree of the Knowledge of good and evil, … God said, but He did. Genesis 2:17 This is the original sin – Disobedience. Romans 5:15-19 Man was blessed indeed, but because of his failure, his fruits multiplied with corruption and wickedness. Evil now engraved the authority and dominion of man till today.
In this series we want to focus on how God, through Christ, restores man’s dominion and blessing – To “Be fruitful and multiply…” For your life to become productive as God intended, it must be turned over to Jesus Christ.“…He who abides in me, Jesus said, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5 This is what I call – Christianity is a matter of life – One that is based not on what you know but what you are created to be in Christ. “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
The Christian life, which is the new life, is extraordinary. It is a pilgrim’s progress, a walk of life, on route to heaven. Only Jesus knows the way from Heaven to earth and back to God. He is the perfect example how you bear the fruit of life and eternal life. God sent Him to show us the way and lead us to Him. John 5:37 Therefore, to be fruitful and multiply along the way, you must be a living branch on the vine, which is Christ and through Him, produce the fruit of repentance unto everlasting life. John 15:4-5 The life which I now live, Paul said, I do by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatian 2:20 if your life expresses the life of Christ; then you can be fruitful and have dominion over the original sin and Satan – Just as Jesus overcame. Romans 5:18-20 Keep in mind If God is glorified, your body, soul and spirit are blessed indeed. We shall continue from here next week. See you then God bless you.
