These signs accompany believers Part 6 Examples of wisdom and knowledge. Cry for revival prayer February 10, 2021

TEXT: Matthew 18:1-4 (NASB).

“At that time, the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, 3 and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

You can turn adversity to opportunity in life and in relationship with God and people. That is the lesson we learnt from Jesus Last week. He said, I have come to save not to destroy. So, in our response and reaction, we must do so appropriately for the sake of Christ and the gospels. The gift of the word of wisdom and knowledge are given to us, so we can demonstrate and share the love of God as Jesus did. He said, love your neighbors, enemies, do good to those who hate you. Luke 6:27 Moreover He commanded saying “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. John 14:23 (NASB) Your rewards, Jesus said, shall be great now and in heaven. It is encouraging to know that what Jesus did, He also gives us power to do likewise. Learn from me he said so you can be, and act like me. And he promised to stand by us to the end. Matthew 28:20. Now to the question of Greatness or success in life.

  1. Question of Greatness: “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” Matthew 18:1 (NKJV) I might ask, who is the most prosperous in the kingdom of Heaven.  How does your greatness and prosperity compare? Jesus answer appears quite the opposite of what you might expect. To be great, be converted and be a little child he said. And to be rich or great in heaven, he said, go sell all you have, give to the poor, come, and follow me. Matt. 19:21-22 Position and prosperity seem to define greatness here on earth. But true prosperity is not what you have and hoard, rather, it is what you give up for Christ’s sake and the gospel. And True greatness, Jesus said, is not your status and place on earth but your presence in heaven. 28 I say to you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” Luke 7:28 (NASB) Heaven is for the humble and humility is true greatness. Matthew 5:3 The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for demonstration and show of strength in this world.  But for the perfecting of the saints, for the sake of the gospel, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Eph 4:12 The Lord said, demonstrate your greatness as a servant of the people. Matthew 23:11 The great question is, where will you spend eternity? And the master’s great answer is, be converted and become humble.  Humility is the practical sign which accompany believers, it is the evidence of the power and love of God.  Imagine that Christ could have called the angels to save himself from His armed enemies. Matthew 26:53 But He was humble to the end while facing humiliation from the people he came save.  Therefore, learn from Me said, I will also give you power and be with you to the end. Your greatness and prosperity on earth is profitless without heaven in focus, but it is great reward and privilege, for Christ’s sake and the Gospel. God bless you. (To be Continued…)
